Team Puffa Rider - Gemma Tattersall

When did you first learn to ride?

I cant remember a time that I wasnt riding. I used to ride my mums horse in from the field when I was about 18 months old, and when I was a bit bigger I rode the ponies where my mum worked.

What was your first win?

I won the Novice Jumping league at Golden Cross on my pony woody, when I was 7 years old.

What has been your biggest achievement so far?

Winning two team gold medals at the Young Rider European championships, being selected for the world class programme, and coming 34th at Badminton this year.

What do you like most about Eventing?

I feel such a great sense of achievement when I do well in three diverse disciplines. It is even more special when I know I have brought the horse on myself. It is such an exciting sport to be part of- I love it!

Who do you most admire in Eventing?

Mark Todd is an inspirational rider, he manages to get the best out of every horse that he rides.

They have to want to do it for you, so they really need the right attitude. They need to be brave and athletic.

Who are your top horses?

Jesters Quest, who I recently took to Burghley, Nylai beach and Ollie Artois.

What are your other interests?

I really like going out for dinner, or lunch and then a bit of shopping with my friends. Brighton and London are my favourite places for shopping.

What are your favourite Puffa products?

I love the fleeces, I live in them. The Chelsworth gilets are great to ride in, as they keep you warm, but leave your arms free. I also think the Strangles tops are fantastic, it is so nice to be supporting such a worthwhile cause!

What are your top tips for other riders?

Work hard and the luckier you will get. Never give up, keep persevering and most of all enjoy it!

What are your future ambitions?

My aim is to be placed in the top 20 for Badminton next year, and of course to take part in the 2012 Olympics.
